Improver/Intermediate Line Dance Instructor
I am a retired RN/Health Care Educator having taught in a variety of nursing & allied health settings including a magnet high school. My spouse and I moved to Spokane Valley from Texas in June of 2020 to be closer to family. I began teaching at the Spokane Valley Senior Center in October 2021 when it opened up after Covid. I took my first line dance class in 2010 and was hooked. A group of ladies in my Sunday School class talked me into starting an easy class in the church gym while I was still a beginner myself. I have been teaching line dance ever since. I taught line dance as a volunteer for 10 years at churches and recreation centers in Arlington, Texas. I have taught all levels of line dance from basic beginner to advanced. For two years, I served on the Board of the North Texas Line Dance Association which sponsors the North Texas Line Dance Classic, a 2 day dance event in Farmers Branch, Texas. I have sponsored groups to many line dance events including H.O.T., Texas Line Dance Jamboree, Line Up & Dance, the Vegas Dance Explosion, and a Caribbean Cruise. I have also hosted workshops and taught/led dances at many line dance events, participated in several flash mobs and performed at nursing homes. I look forward to many more years of fun line dancing here in the Spokane area.
Beginner Line Dance Instructor
Originally from Canada, I moved to Washington State in 2018. I heard about line dancing classes at the Senior Center through a friend. I have always been into fitness ie. walking, jogging, bowling I even taught aerobics for many years but I had no experience in dancing. I took one class with Judy and I was hooked ! Such a great way to stay in shape physically and mentally. Within a few weeks of coming to dance classes my sweet husband converted my garage into a dance studio and as the saying goes, the rest is history!
